The order banks for the 2027 Ford Ranger are officially open! If you are looking to get your hands on the latest model year, you can place your order with your local dealer right now. While the online "Build & Price" tool on Ford's website won't be live until production begins around early January, we already have the full breakdown of pricing, powertrain updates, and packaging changes so you can start configuring your ideal build.
Here is everything you need to know about what's new and different for the 2027 Ford Ranger.
Trim Levels & Pricing Changes
For 2027, the Ranger retains its familiar trim lineup: XL, XLT, Lariat, and Raptor. While base prices have seen minor bumps, there is a surprising drop on the Lariat trim due to some strategic packaging changes.
Here are the starting MSRPs (Note: All prices are before the new $1,895 destination charge).
| Trim Level | 2027 Pricing | Change from 2026 |
| XL 4x2 | $34,020 | +$670 |
| XL 4x4 | $37,520 | +$670 |
| XLT 4x2 | $36,340 | +$465 |
| XLT 4x4 | $39,840 | +$465 |
| Lariat 4x2 | $42,725 | -$1,030 |
| Lariat 4x4 | $46,225 | -$1,030 |
| Raptor | $57,210 | -$140 |
Note: Long McArthur Ford is currently taking orders at invoice pricing across the board, including the highly-coveted Ranger Raptor.
Powertrain Changes: Enter the 3.0L EcoBoost V6
One of the biggest announcements for 2027 is the powertrain lineup. The 2.3L EcoBoost with auto start/stop returns as the standard workhorse, but the optional 2.7L engine has been officially retired.
Replacing it is a new optional 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine, available on both the XLT and Lariat trims. This upgrade will cost an additional $2,500 over the base engine. Although we don't know actual numbers yet, it's expected to less than last year's Raptor number which were 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The Ranger Raptor, of course, continues to feature a specially tuned High-Output (HO) version of the 3.0L V6.
Interior Tech & Standard Upgrades Across the Board
Ford is bringing more standard technology and comfort to every single Ranger model for 2027:
Bigger Screens: The old 10-inch center screen is gone. A massive 12-inch center display is now standard equipment on all trims, including the base XL.
Climate Control: Because of the new 12-inch screen setup, Dual-Zone Climate Control is now standard across the entire lineup.
Ford Connectivity: The Ford Connectivity package is now standard on all vehicles, running on an upgraded 5G modem (up from 4G). There is also a new 7-year one-time purchase plan available for unlimited Wi-Fi, navigation, and audio streaming.
Safety Tech: Intersection Assist and the Lane Keeping System (aid/alert) are now standard on all trims.
Exterior Colors & New Appearance Packages
If you want your Ranger to stand out, you have some new styling options to consider.
Color Changes:
Discontinued: Carbonized Gray and Velocity Blue are no longer available.
New: Neptune Blue, a deep, dark blue seen on the Super Duty and Bronco, joins the lineup.
Interior: Space Gray replaces Sandstone as an interior color option on the XLT and Lariat trims.
Appearance Packages:
Black Appearance Package ($895): The package returns, but with additions. It now includes graphic decals (with a delete option if you prefer a clean look) and floor liners. Note: The Ford oval emblem will remain standard blue this year; it will not be blacked out.
New Bronze Appearance Package ($895): Available on the XLT and Lariat, this includes 18-inch bronze-painted wheels, a black rear bumper, bronze-painted center grille bars, special graphics (with a delete option), and floor liners.
Trim-by-Trim Breakdown
XL Updates
Standard wheels are no longer steel; the XL now comes standard with 17-inch painted wheels.
Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is now optional, bringing Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go and lane centering, plus Blind Spot Assist and oncoming automatic emergency braking.
Rocker rails with hoop steps are newly optional (requires the FX4 Off-Road package).
XLT Updates
Say goodbye to gray: The Sport Appearance package is gone. Bumpers, wheels, and grilles that were previously gray are now painted black.
LED fog lights have been removed as standard equipment and are now an option.
Co-Pilot360 2.0 is standard, adding Blind Spot Assist, Intersection Assist, Post-Collision Braking, and Road Edge Detection.
A Power Sliding Rear Window is now available as a standalone option on the 300A equipment group (previously locked behind 301A).
Lariat & Raptor Updates (The "Lux" Package Restructure)
You might have noticed the Lariat's starting price dropped significantly. This is because Ford removed several premium features from the standard equipment list on both the Lariat and the Raptor to create a lower cost of entry.
Removed from standard (now optional): Power folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, ambient lighting, driver memory seats, heated steering wheel (Lariat), and the 10-speaker B&O Sound System (Lariat).
If you want these features back, you'll need to opt for the new Luxury (Lux) Package, which costs around $1,000. Adding the Lux package to the Lariat brings its price back up to roughly last year's level, but adds a slight premium to the Raptor.
Other Lariat/Raptor notes:
The Lariat grille changes from chrome bars to "smoke satin," and the wheel lip moldings are painted gloss black.
The Raptor gets ActiveX seating material instead of leather, a "premium wrapped" steering wheel, and standard 17-inch black wheels (replacing the previous gray wheels).
